Our three part project

The Young Adults Study is being undertaken by research psychologists based at the Thomas Coram Research Unit, University College London. It has been designed in consultation with the Donor Conception Network, the first and now largest community-based network in the UK for donor conception families, and other stakeholders in the field. The project is generously funded by the Economic and Social Research Council [ES/S015426/1].

In-depth interviews

In-depth interviews were conducted with donor conceived young adults to better understand their experiences. Preliminary findings from the interviews were used to inform the next part of the project - a nationwide survey.

Focus groups

The next part of our study involves focus groups with donor conceived young adults. The aim of the focus groups is to hear from young adults about their experiences of being donor conceived, their thoughts on existing provision, and the types of support they feel could be helpful.
